The owners of this home love all of the historic, ranch style architecture in the area above El Jebel, Colorado. They also love contemporary architecture. Joined together, this simple, contemporary, structurally dynamic home was born.
The largest cantilevered portion of Frank Lloyd Wrights’ Falling Water is 14'-". The dining room on this residence goes a bit further at 16’-0” while the master bedroom on the other end cantilevers 8'-0".
This home is a balancing act in every sense of the word, and along with all the ranch architecture in the neighborhood, adding a traditional barn clad stairwell/laundry area with a rusted corrugated roof was the perfect counterpoint to the contemporary design of the home.
